Say what you will about McG's upcoming take on the Terminator franchise, but at least he's trying to get some interesting people involved. The latest actor to join the cast of Terminator: Salvation, which is already filming in New Mexico, is either Mrs. Lovett or Bellatrix Lestrange, depending on which geek you ask. Yup, The Hollywood Reporter says Helena Bonham Carter will be taking a "small but pivotal" role in the movie.Though Carter seems like a choice completely out of left field-- she's known mostly from fancy British movies like Wings of the Dove-- she has something of a summer movie resume, thanks largely to her partner Tim Burton. She was part of Planet of the Apes way back in 2001, as well as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005. And, of course, she screeched and howled as Bellatrix Lestrange just last summer in the latest Harry Potter movie. It beats me how McG will fit Carter into the mix that includes Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard and Common, just to name a few. But Carter is always always always interesting to watch, especially when left to do her own thing and put a unique spin on a character that might otherwise be forgettable. The cast of this movie may sound now like a complete hodgepodge, but hey, if McG pulls it off, we'll all pretend we thought it was brilliant from the beginning.
