Weekend Box Office - Disturbia

discussioncomments published: 2007-04-22 22:36:31 Author: Scott Gwin

Despite there being plenty of better movies out there, America saw fit to bestow its box office cash yet again on Disturbia. With tragedies striking a heavy blow this week it's no surprise that fewer people were out in theaters this weekend, but I'm still stunned that teens re-enacting Rear Window would out perform an Oscar nominee and Oscar winner going at each other in the best reviewed thiller of the year. For the total top ten check out the chart below.

Next weekend has four new releases but I'm not even going to bother naming them. They're pretty much all a waste of your time. How bad are they? Let me put it this way, one stars Stone Cold Steve Austin and another headlines Jamie Kennedy. Yeah, told you it was bad. It's the great Hollywood Star Destroyer dumping its waste before jumping into summer hyperspace. It's the deep breath before the plunge. In two weeks Spiderman 3 arrives and its box office bonanza for a solid three months to come.
