   From most posts at other websites, these fanboys that all these critics think they know so well didn't really care if he had lips or not. Some even said it makes sense that when he talks the face shield comes down. Most said it doesn't bother them and of course still going to see the movie.

   I'm glad we have an authority like you that can speak for the whole of the internet Shamrock. You should tell us what we're thinking more often. Save me wasting time having to expend the energy.
   
   Weirdly very few of the "fanboys" of the show I have encountered like this at all. Strangely though, fanboys of sites which have blatently whored themselves to Paramount seem to be the ones which have nothing but good things to say.
   
   Incidentally it's best you don't try and speak for anybody but yourself or you'll a) be proved wrong b) look like a superior condecending idiot.
   
   Or both.

   Most people seemd concerned with Optimus' lips, but is anyone else bothered by the fact that while it was awesome that Peter Cullen was picked to voice Optimus, but then now they altered his voice so much it doesnt even sound like Optimus did... that pisses me off more then anything...

   It seems odd every other piece of info coming out alternately excites me and dissapoints me... when we started seeing some of the 'bots in action I was excited, now i feel let down... while lips dont throw me off (in fact a lot of the robots like Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream had lips... but it was Optimus Face Shield that made him sort of mysterious and authoratative...) then it comes down to this; if the face shield is only up in "battle mode" (all of the 'bots have a "battle mode" face and a regular, revealed face... in one of the trailers you can see bumblebee with his face shield coming down from over the top of his head) then thats not too bad, but I agree with some of the consensus, the face doesnt looks right... his nose is wierd, the lips move wierd... if I were to imagine what Optimus' face looked like under the shield, it wouldnt even be close to what I see... and frankly I dont like it. Bay, if your gonne keep the lips, make the face look cooler. Please...

   The problem is that Michael Bay was born in 1965 making him 42. That means when the Transformers were very popular in 84' to 87' he was in college chasing tail and not watching cartoons. So most likely didnt watch the show as a child so he has no reason to stay true to the origional show. Unlike the millions of us he does not have fond memories of the show.

   I just figured out why megatron and Optimus Prime look the why that they do. Look at prime's face in the foward view in non-battle mode and look at megatron's face head in the foward view in battle mode. Michael bay made their faces to resemble the Autobot and the Decepticon symbols. I don't like it but I will grow to accept it. I guess?

   all the other transformers had lips. Optimus just kept his covered up. apparently he had the same condition as michael jackson and like to keep his face covered. Also I understand that he had an embarrassing cold sore from some decepticon prostitute. Now that I think of it, quite a few of them kept there faces covered up. That just goes to show even alien robots that turn into shit like to get down with the hoes now and then
