 In what easily the oddest sequel news to come out in a while, it looks as Fox execs are prepping a sequel to the 1993 hit Mrs. Doubtfire.
Bonnie Hunt (Cheaper By the Dozen) has been tapped to pen the next adventure of the cross-dressing English nanny. Actor Robin Williams is currently being courted to return as the title character and her washed up actor alter ego Daniel Hillard. The original film also starred Sally Field and Peirce Brosnan. No word yet if those two are in talks to reprise their roles. It is being said that director Chris Columbus (first 2 Harry Potters) won’t be returning this go around. Mrs. Doubtfire won two Golden Globes for Best Picture Musical or Comedy and Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, and an Academy Award for Best Make-Up.
