Underworld 3 Will Not Include Selene

One of the biggest complaints about the pending third Underworld picture isn’t that it’s being made in the first place, but that the star of the first two movies isn’t coming back for the third one. At a press conference for her most recent movie, Kate Beckinsale confirmed that she would not be involved with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, even just in a cameo.

If you hear a sound of weeping, its all of the fans of the franchise who were holding out hope for a brief glimmer of Beckinsale, but according to IESB such a thing is not in the works. In fact, Beckinsale doesn’t intend to return to the franchise any time in the foreseeable future.

Of course, long term reunions are in vogue right now, from John McClane’s return to the screen last year to Indiana Jones’s new adventure this year. Beckinsale seems to think such at thing could be possible for her as well, returning to the character at 50. No offense Kate, but I don’t think fans want to see you in that leather when you’re that age.

Kate, please Kate, please please please please Kate. There simply is no Underworld without Selene, and there is no Selene without Kate. Please please please please Kate come back. I never watched a Vampire movie before Kate made Selene Rock! No one has her intensity her sheer perfection. God how can you call it Underworld if it isn't going to have Kate in it? I won't go to see it and I doubt I will rent it. I might download it if it's a perfect copy, but I won't pay to see it if Kate isn't going to be in it. So there.

i think that the new under world moive will not be any good i am a under world fan and if there is no selean than i think there will be no movie. after all she is a important part of the movie just her character in genral there has to be a selean

Even though Selene will not be in the film I think she should have a cameo appearance. If you pay close attention , the reason Selene's family were killed was when Lucien escaped after Sonia's death with her necklace that he took as a keepsake. Viktor fearing that Lucien would try to find the location of William's prison killed Selene's father (responsible for building Williams prison) and family but could not bear to kill Selene as she reminded him of his daughter Sonia.

Now if we look back the key was made for Williams prison when Selene was a young girl. Before Sonia's death Viktor had already given her one of the two keys. After Lucien's escape (with the key) Viktor killed Selene's family then turned her (now full grown Selene) later that night into a vampire. So the story line according to the movies fall somewhere in the timeline when Selene was born and turned.

I don't know where the movie will end off. Maybe Lucien escaping after Sonia's death maybe not. But I think if Sonia is the main star we will not see to much more of the movie after her death. So most likely it will end with her death and Lucian's escape ( I could be wrong, hopefully). None the less it would be cool to see Selene
somewhere in the movie (cameo role)being turned into a vampire.

if kate and speedmen is not in the movie then there is no way in hell im watching it or suproting it. i think it is worng to make a 3rd one that has nothing to do in continuing the actaul story between selan and michael, not only that is completely stupid to make a movie without the main characters! i will not support it or even go see it if they are not in it! email me at this address kaseys0001@yahoo.com if anyone knows anything new

Well, some 50 year olds today are doing pretty good (at least in Hollywood!) so by the time her 50th comes around, it will be the new 35. So don't be so quick to prophesize! On a down note, I am bummed she's not around for this 3rd installment. :(
