10 Years Trailer Features Channing Tatum And Rosario Dawson Looking Back
From American Reunion to Romy And Michele's High School Reunion to Grosse Pointe Blank, the 10 year high school reunion has proved fertile ground for satisfying movie antics. But 10 Years, the directorial debut of Dear John scribe Jamie Linden, takes a more dramatic turn than these titles. Still, with a cast that includes For a Good Time, Call…'s Justin Long and Ari Graynor, and Parks and Recreation's Chris Pratt and Aubrey Plaza, I wouldn't expect this reflective feature to get too serious.
Dear John star Channing Tatum re-teams with Linden on this venture, not only serving as producer but also headlining the ensemble cast. Tatum plays Jake, who is on the verge of proposing to his girlfriend (played by his real-life wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum), until his high school sweetheart Mary (Rosario Dawson) turns up and stirs old up feelings. But that's not all! The Yahoo trailer below also boasts subplots featuring Kate Mara (127 Hours), Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker), and Oscar Isaac (Sucker Punch), each handling their reunion with varying degrees of class and sass:
It's sort of insane that Linden was able to wrangle so many up-and-coming stars to his first feature. Whether this speaks to the quality of his screenplay or the persuasive powers of Tatum in producer mode it's hard to guess at this stage. Regardless, the incredibly charismatic cast makes this first trailer irresistible. From Pratt calling Tatum fat (pot and kettle, buddy) to Mackie's razzing Plaza's beau, and Long's longing that his toilet paper vandalism will be considered beautiful, this promo is lush with alluring possibilities.
10 Years opens September 14th.
