21 Jump Street Sequel Confirmed For 2014

21 Jump Street was not just one of the most critically-acclaimed comedies of 2012, but a true hit at the box office. Made for only $42 million, the film was able to bank over $100 million at the US box office, and worldwide totaled over $200 million. Given the massive success and the set-up at the end of the movie - suggesting that the young-looking undercover cop characters played by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum would be graduating to college - it was a no-brainer that a sequel would get the greenlight. But now we know when we will actually be seeing it.

Sony Pictures held their presentation at CinemaCon this evening and after showing off a reel of all their 2013 films, they listed off all of their confirmed titles for 2014...which included 21 Jump Street 2. There was no mention of an official release date, or who among the cast would be coming back for part two, both Tatum and Hill have been confirmed to return. It's worth noting that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are currently working on The Lego Movie, so it's possible that they will be too busy to return and helm the sequel.

I personally couldn't be more happy about this news. 21 Jump Street was one of my favorite movies of last year, and if they can capture that same kind of magic in a sequel I will be elated. But what do you all think? Are you excited that they're making a sequel or do you wish they would just leave it be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
