Heath Ledger’s Joker getup has grown on me, so maybe this will grow on me to. Right now though, my gut reaction to the new Two-Face concept art to your right [image removed at request of WB] is: they’ve gone too far.

I suppose we should have expected something like this. It’s in keeping with Nolan’s determination to make things as realistic as possible, even if it means sacrificing cool factor for gritty reality. In many of his other incarnations for instance, Two-Face was kind of cool. Yeah his face was messed up, but the messed up half often ended up looking like some sort of psychotic goblin with wicked fashion sense. It was fun.
There’s nothing fun about this. It looks like someone glued a partially chewed Uruk-Hai on to the left half of Harvey Dent’s head. There’s nothing comic book or particularly creative about it. It’s like Nolan simply told his production designers to burn the shit out of him, and then that’s what they went with. I get why they did it, I just think it’s a little too much. This is a superhero movie after all, not Halloween or The Mummy. Maybe it’ll turn out to be fake.

Holy crap thats crazy... I think there was at least always more color to his face, purples and so forth, plus Two face had hair on his head still, it wasnt bald... Crazy crazy look... creepy...
Well it wouldn't make much sense if he got burned/scarred by fire or acid or whatever they decide to go with and he turns out looking like a cartoony wacko. I understand where you're coming from, though.
man that shit is hot...that person needs to stop bitchin...thats two face ..i would not fuck with him..batman is going to be the biggest movie in the past 2 years..great job they did!!!!
I dont realy understand how this is even a topic I think the new look is BAD ASS! This is a new take on The Batman there trying to do somthing that hasnt been done before stay true to the darker story Batman realy is, and to say the director is making the story too realistic is a big bunch of BS! cause most things in these movies are not physicaly possible, and people dont dress up like bats and jokers ,and ther face would git infected if it got burnt off, but i love what they have done with the new take on Batman because its good story telling and looks so real when u leave the movie u ask your self maybe it could be possible.
It makes perfect sense for Two Face to be morbid like that. Nolan wants his Batman to be as realistic as possible so what else do you think his face would look like! I think its bold and daring and I hope that they follow through with it! I'm sure it will only be one shot of his demented face at the end of the movie to set us up for the next movie and then when Batman 3 comes out and time has passed in Gotham City it will look less graphic after having time to heal.
I for one am glad that's what he looks like (if that is in fact how he's going to look). It keeps things real. slightly more grounded like the fact the Joker is only wearing clown makeup.
I don't think they could go with it as is, unless they wanted to make sure it got an R rating.
As it is I kind of like it, it's "real, but not real" at the same time I have a problem with some episodes of MASH, yet this is just far enough off real that I can see it.
If they are using this as a "base model" then building up from there I think they have a real winner on their hands.
Maybe start having his scarred face/hair growing back from the point they have now so it can look at bit more between that and the "cartoony" version.
I do however think I have seen him looking close to this in some of the graphic novels so it's not a "never done this way before" thing for Two-Face
I dont know what to think...at one end...its very realistic...and at the other...its a big lep from the comic book...but neither of thise are that bad...i think that maybe he'll change appearance as the story progresses...like you know the scars will start to look better and he'll start to grow more hair...i think this may the first time you him n the film as Two-Face...I think it will get better...but either way...I like it...I mean they wanted the bad guy to be The Joker...and the story to be
Harvey Dent...they want you to feel bad for this man who was pretty much batman without the costume...the other difference is that this terrible tragedy becomes him...they want you to feel sorry for him...so i have to ay that i like it...depending on how they play out his emotions...if he is angry...and an ass then it would be kinda scary...if he was sad and sorry for what ever crimes he does...then it would be worth while...
I think its great. The batman comics are dark therefore the movies should be dark and gloomy aswell. I feel the new look is excellent. Batman is suppose to be realistic otherwise he wouldnt need a cape to fly or a utility belf. He could just fly and shoot beams of lighting from his ass. For Batman, realism works.
I mean, anything is going to be better than Tommy "the one dimensional man" Lee Jones. More real, less fake. People need to stop crying just because Batman is badass now. Last I checked, he never had a vagina. Last I checked, everyone that pissed and moaned about Batman characters not being to "viewer friendly" did have a vagina. So, in closing, stop talking out of your vaginas.
Even though the image was pulled down, I personally thought it was great looking. The thing about this new take on Batman is that they're trying to make it (A) realistic, where purple and cyan faces don't happen to acid burned (or fire-burned) people, and (B) heavily based on the work of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. Check out "The Long Halloween", where Two-Face definately isn't a "fun" character; he murders several people in cold blood, his bad face is basically skinless, and quite frankly, jarring to look at compared to his unscarred, Apollo-esque face. THAT'S where I think they're going. Trying to get away from the gimmicky "I do every crime involving the numer 2" criminal that Two Face started out as. And if you check out the most recent trailer, there's a half second shot where Dent is holding a revolver, and you can barely make out a burn outline on the side of his face that's not towards camera. A micro tease compared to the ex-pic, but still, proof that they're staying with the design we saw here.
To quote Ferris Bueller, "you can never go to far." I'd love to see a version of Two Face on the screen that makes people uncomfortable to look at it. Comic book villains shouldn't be "fun," they should look evil and scary, because, after all, that's what their aiming for.
