4 New Stills From Kevin Smith's Red State
Though Kevin Smith's been talking about submitting his newest film to Sundance for some time now, today marked the official inclusion of Red State into the festival's out-of-competition lineup. Starring the likes of Michael Parks, John Goodman, Melissa Leo, Stephen Root and a host of other very talented actors, the horror film about fundamentalism has become one of the most anticipated of the winter festival. As of yet all we've seen from the film is an eerie poster and a fairly nondescript still, but now, we have our first real look at the film.
Four new images posted by the site don't exactly show off plot points, but do provide the first look at the characters. You'll notice that Michael Parks, who plays a mirror for Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps and is the film's principle antagonist, looks almost unrecognizable with shaggy blond hair and glasses, and it seems as though John Goodman has done a great job keeping off the weight that he lost. Check out the stills below and click on each to see them in their highest resolution.
