A Bunch Of Unknowns Cast, As Promised, In Todd Phillips' Project X![]()
The Hangover director Todd Phillips' next film Due Date will be fairly star studded-- Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, Jamie Foxx, Michelle Monaghan, etc.etc.-- but as a producer he's taking a turn toward the unknown. We've already told you a little about Project X, the fairly secret comedy project that Phillips is producing about a house party gone awry. There was an open casting call to find unknowns to star in the film, and now Variety reports that they've stayed true to their word and cast a bunch of people I have never, ever heard of.
The lucky newcomers are Miles Teller, Oliver Cooper, Jonathan Daniel Brown, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Dax Flame, Nichole O'Connor, Thomas Mann and Alexis Knapp. Dax Flame is apparently the kid you see pictured above, who is popular enough on YouTube that he's inspired tribute videos (embedded below). Blanton has a few credits on Hannah Montana and Zoey 101, Knapp is probably this model, Teller has virtually no credits but will apparently be part of the Footloose cast, and the rest have names so common they're not even Google-able. So yes, a full cast of unknowns, just as promised. The movie will apparently be shot Cloverfield style and document the party as it spins out of control. First-timer Nima Nourizadeh will be directing Matt Drake's script, and if this works out we can have a lot of knockoffs to look forward to. If there's anything Todd Phillips does well, it's making a funny movie that inspires dozens and dozens of terrible knockoffs. |
