A Dangerous Method Set Photos: Mortensen And Fassbender Look The Part
Photos of actors in costume as Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung don't exactly excite the Internet the way superhero set photos do, but if you're a fan of David Cronenberg, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley or all of the above, you'll definitely want to check out the photos from the set of A Dangerous Method dug up by Austrian/German newspapers TT and Heute (via the ever-vigilant Playlist).
Mortensen has grown the perfect Freud beard for the part, while Fassbender pops on some tiny little wire-frame glasses and looks like a great Jung. Knightley was on the set with them in your usual period garb, but since her character Sabina Spielrein isn't as well known to history as Freud and Jung, there's less to recognize. A Dangerous Method documents the relationship between Freud and Jung and how it gave birth to competing theories of psychoanalysis; the set photos show exactly the "walking and talking through picturesque gardens" scene you would expect from a period film, though given that this is Cronenberg, there's no predicting what to expect at all. Check out some of the set images below, including The Playlist's awesome side-by-side comparison of Mortensen and Fassbender and their real-life characters. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
