A Little Help For Jenna Fischer

By Rafe Telsch: 2008-11-04 09:13:37
A Little Help For Jenna Fischer I admit, I love the Jim/Pam dynamic of The Office. I don’t just like it because the couple is so cute, but because I think both actors are really talented. Unfortunately, breaking out from the success of The Office hasn’t exactly proven successful for any of the cast (except for Steve Carell, who had outside success first). That’s not keeping them from trying though.

Actress Jenna Fischer continues her non-Office work which has included Walk Hard and Slither with a new dramady. Variety announced the actress will headline the independent film, A Little Help, to be directed by Michael J. Weithorn, the creator of King of Queens. That’s funny. I always thought King of Queens was a reality show that followed Kevin James around as he fell down a lot and ate stuff. You mean Jerry Stiller isn’t really Kevin James’s father-in-law?

The movie will feature Fischer as a widowed single mom who reconnects with an old flame, who just happens to be her sister’s husband. Swap the genders and this sounds a bit like Steve Carell’s Dan in Real Life, at least on paper. Still, I want to see Fischer branch out with more roles, so I’ll eagerly await more news on A Little Help.
