A Promising Possibility For Wolf Man Director![]()
Universal hasn’t wasted any time looking for a replacement for The Wolf Man. It’s gotten to the point that I feel like every other story I’m running is about some new contender for the job. Some of those have been pretty promising (Matt “Cloverfield” Reeves) and others… well, not so much (Brent “X-Men 3” Ratner). Now another name has popped up as a possibility, and it may be the most exciting yet.
Collider.com is reporting that the legendary John Landis’s name has made a trip to Universal to discuss taking on the Benicio Del Toro movie. Landis would be a parfect fit, as the man who directed An American Werewolf in London and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, both excellent examples of werewolf movies. Landis would be a fantastic fit for a project like this. I have no doubt he’d pay respect to the original, while making this movie his own. As far as the possibilities we’ve heard about so far, Landis is definitely the dream pick. Will it happen? Hopefully we’ll find out soon. The movie was slated to start filming halfway through this month, so if Universal hopes to maintain that schedule they’ll have to sign a replacement soon. |
