A Second Lemony Snicket Movie Might Be Possible![]()
Brad Silberling is busy talking about his experience directing Will Ferrell, Danny McBride and some Sleestaks in Land of the Lost, but Cinefools also caught him at the premiere to talk about Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, the movie he directed in 2004 that didn't exactly make the kind of money you'd expect from a Jim Carrey movie based on a series of best-selling books.
But apparently there's always room for a sequel, even for a non-hit. Silberling told the Cinefools guys " I would love nothing more than to do that and we've been hoping to, so I think there will be a chance it may take a wildly different form but I think it will probably happen." He admitted, though, that there are challenges in place. "There was a period of time, about a year ago, where I would have said "Oh, good luck" because it was mired in so many things. It was a co-production between Paramount and Dreamworks and there were studio politics and I actually think it's going to see the light of day." There's no word anywhere in there about when the movie would be made, or with who, or anything. But for the dozen or so Lemony Snicket fans reading this site, there's hope! It can't be any worse than all the other children's book adaptations we get, right? |
