Some of the people who emailed me with this trailer expressed extreme dissapointment in it. I'm not exactly sure what they were expecting. But to me, this first trailer for Ivan Reitman's new movie My Super Ex-Girlfriend is almost exactly the sort of thing I assumed we'd see… and it's not terrible.

If anything it's just mediocre. It might be kind of fun. It's an Ivan Reitman film. I mean, he did Ghostbusters, but what else? Some nice, mediocre, easily forgettable stuff starring people the Govinator and then some really bad movies we'd all like to forget. I'm not sure where all these unreasonable expectations for his work came from. He's never really been that good. This trailer represents about what you'd expect from him when doing a movie that doesn't feature ectoplasm.
