AFI's Top Ten

discussioncomments published: 2004-12-15 00:00:00 Author: Joshua Tyler
The American Film Institute, a group that exists solely to make lists, has released their 2004 top ten. Well, perhaps it’s not exactly a top ten, since they don’t put them in any order, maybe it’s more of a “ten movies we liked” list. Here’s the ten movies that the AFI liked best in 2004:

• The Aviator
• Collateral
• Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
• Friday Night Lights
• The Incredibles
• Kinsey
• Maria Full of Grace
• Million Dollar Baby
• Sideways
• Spider-Man 2

I like their list a lot better than the stuff nominated by the Golden Globes, but then the AFI has always been big on being likable. That probably explains the presence of Friday Night Lights a movie which suckers in football fans… and there are a lot of those.
