I read the first three Harry Potter books and I’ve seen all of the movies for two reasons. One, because I value cultural literacy and was sick of listening to other people engage in conversations I couldn’t be apart of, and two, because the story is strangely addicting. I don’t even like Harry, Ron or Hermione very much, but side characters like Kingsley Shacklebolt and Mad Eye Moody just own. It’s a fact. I can’t turn my back on them. What if they do something awesome while I look away? Not worth the risk. That’s why I’m going on the Harry Potter Adventure. I don’t even have to worry about my friends teasing me either. They went to Saw Fest. Yeah, I know…

On November 18th at over 100 AMC Theaters across the country, the cinema chain is preempting the midnight Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 showing with movies five and six. The extravaganza costs twenty dollars and starts at 6 P.M. Rumor has it there’s also a commemorative lanyard involved. Who doesn’t have to worry about losing his keys now? This guy.

I once embarked on a Harry Potter marathon with one of my buddies who’d never watched the movies. An entire day and two separate Pizza Hut Pizone runs later, we high-fived to celebrate a day well spent. I wonder if he’d be willing to miss work to preemptive these three movies with anther three Harry Potter movies? Better find out.
