Adorable Child Cast As Jennifer Garner's Butter Competition![]()
As it turns out Jennifer Garner's upcoming comedy Butter isn't just a silly romp about a town obsessed with butter sculpting-- it's a metaphor for the 2008 Presidential election. And it's a weird one too. Garner's character is intended as a parallel to Hillary Clinton, the wife to a butter-sculpting champion who decides to enter the game herself, but is challenged by a young, black competitor-- who happens to be a 12-year-old girl.
It sounds twisted and hilarious, and now a young girl has joined the madness. Movieline is reporting that Yara Shahidi has been cast as the Obama surrogate, which makes me desperately hope that she will inspire millions with big speeches while Garner fumes in a corner. If you had the misfortune of seeing last summer's Imagine That, which was a terrible movie but did make Shahidi seem impossibly cute. I seriously can't wait to see her put on her game face and kick Garner's ass-- because that's how it has to end, right? |
