If you hear a cracking sound after reading this, it's only a million Clint Eastwood fans having their heart broken. Ben Affleck may be remaking an Eastwood movie.

The story comes from Dark Horizons where Garth says Affleck is talking to Universal about producing, directing, and starring in a remake of Clint Eastwood's directorial debut, the 1971 movie Play Misty for Me.

The good news is that the movie isn't exactly one of Clint's most iconic roles. I mean, it's not like Ben's talking about redoing The Outlaw Josey Wales. This is a movie about a DJ and an obsessed female fan. When people think Clint Eastwood, they don't think Disco. If you have to redo something from a legend like Clint, then this seems like a pretty good candidate. I say let Ben Affleck have it.

Ben won't be going it alone either. Word from DH is that Eastwood may produce the movie. For Affleck, this could be a great opportunity to learn directing from a living, breathing, master of the trade.
