The kid friendly graphic novel, Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery will be adapted into a film, which I’m assuming will also be kid friendly. The story follows a girl who inherits her father’s fortune at 16 and promptly starts seeing and talking to ghosts.

Variety reports that Evan Spiliotopoulos, who has written many straight-to-DVD family flicks, such as Lion King 1 ½ , Ariel’s Beginning, and The Jungle Book 2 will be adapting the script. Thor Freudenthal (the upcoming Hotel for Dogs) will direct.

Although it sounds more promising than Kit Kittredge, I’m not so sure this one will be grown-up friendly. It is only once is a Harry Potter blue moon that live action kid lit adaptations draw an adult crowd. So, start getting your kids jacked up about this one. Or not, since it most likely will not be out for a few years, and you do not want to have them bugging you about it until it hits theaters.
