Aguamenti! Hogwarts Set Goes Up In Flames![]()
The final installments of the Harry Potter series have been in production now for quite some time and is inching closer and closer to their last wrap. The film culminates in an epic battle sequence at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a sequence that when being filmed sadly went horrible awry.
According to News of the World, several of the explosive effects used to film the scene did not work as planned and set fire to the massive Hogwart's set that's been used for almost ten years now. The set was left seriously damaged, but thankfully no one was injured in the blaze which six fire fighter crew fought for 40 minutes before bringing it down. A witness had this to say about the blaze: "We were shooting the scenes where Hogwarts gets blown up during the battle. But fire managed to catch hold of the set and it went up in flames. It was completely out of control at one point." Warner Brothers announced that while losing the set at Leavesden Film Studios in England is devastating, production will not be halted, which hopefully will mean that rebuilding the set won't take so long that they'll need to push back the film's November release date. More on this as they iron out their new shooting schedule to accommodate for the loss. |
