Alec Baldwin To Sing 80s Favorites In Rock Of Love![]()
Twitter may crucify the English language on a daily basis, but at least it frequently provides movie news straight from the horse’s mouth. No studio write-ups, no insufferable press releases, just the facts in 140 characters or less. I’d probably lose my job if I were as brief as director Adam Shankman was today, but our job descriptions are a little bit different.
According to his Twitter, Alec Baldwin is officially aboard for the upcoming musical Rock Of Ages. The 30 Rock actor had been in negotiations to become part of the grandiosity for awhile now, but until this tweet, nothing was set in stone. He’ll play Dennis, the club owner currently being portrayed on Broadway by Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider. Just another reason to get excited for one of the more over the top productions we’ve seen in awhile. If you’re keeping score at home, Shankman has now lined up Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Mary J Blige and Alec Baldwin. Who wouldn’t want to see this group belt out Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Poison and all the other hair metal favorites? The 80s may have withered this weekend with the bombing of the underrated Take Me Home Tonight, but it’ll be back in a big way next year. |
