Yesterday we brought you the disappointing news that Oscar nominated Juno star Ellen Page was dropping out of Sam Raimi’s next flick, a horror movie called Drag Me To Hell. Today we know who her replacement is.
Ellen Page is 20, and so they’ve cast someone who has made an entire career out of looking like she’s under 20, even though she’s a lot closer to 30. Variety says Alison Lohman will jump into the leading role left vacant by Page’s departure. Not only is Lohman good at faking youth, she could also probably make a pretty good living as an Ellen Page impersonator. The resemblance between them is almost uncanny.
Luckily, Lohman is also a pretty good actress so though Raimi’s picture may lose a little star power with the departure of Page Drag Me To Hell has someone who’s up to the task of whatever horrors Raimi can throw at her. What he’s throwing at her, is some sort of supernatural curse. That seems to be all we know about the movie, the first horror movie written and directed by genre general Sam Raimi since he got sucked into the world of Spidey six years ago.
