I don’t know anyone who’s actually seen it, but somehow, against all expectations, Alvin & the Chipmunks continues to make money hand over fist at the box office. It’s utterly baffling. It’s just a bunch of stupid CGI rats people! I know, I get all nostalgic for those old records and cartoons from when I was a kid too… but the movie has made more than National Treasure 2. It’s already the most successful animation/live-action combo movie ever made. Yes, even more successful than Pete’s Dragon. It could end up beating Ratatouille as the most successful family film of 2007. That’s an awful lot of nostalgia.
Enough nostalgia that it’s going to earn Alvin and the gang a second trip to movie theaters. I mean, with those kinds of numbers it just about has to doesn’t it? This is Hollywood we’re talking about here. The guys over at MTV managed to get the movie’s producer Janice Karman to give them the scoop on Chipmunks sequel plans, and she admits: “There has been a lot of talk about it… A lot of people have been asking about the little girls.”
The little girls in question would be the Chipettes, female mirror images of the Chipmunks which showed up regularly on the old cartoon series. If you’re going to make a sequel, bringing in Brittany, Eleanor, and Jeanette is the obvious direction to go. I just hope Brittany’s not still wearing that creepy miniskirt.

I think it is a great idea to bring the girls into a sequel of the chipmunks. they are part of the show so they deserve to be in a movie as well!!!!!!!!!
well i hope alvin and the chipmunks make a movie like the first one not made out of cartoons made out like the first one i hope it comes out soon A.K.A ILOVE SIMON
I can't wait to see the Chipettes in the movie i loved watching the cartoon when i was younger. I'm 23 now and still a true fan. Oh and side note........there NOT rats there Chipmunks
I think there should be a new one but called Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: Munks in Skirts and Alvin should fall for Brittany but then Charlene comes back and demands to get Alvin's love back...
ever sense i was a little girl i loved the chipmunks and chipettes i loved them so much i named my two kids after two of them my son alvin my daughter brittany.
i think jeanette is the petteist one and the smartest and i think eleanor is the second prettiest and the nicest and i think brittany is the meanest and the ugleyest i think who ever thinks jeanette is the ugleyest girl in the world is really stupid.
i thought of a flower for each one of the chipettes i think brittany is a black rose and i think jeanette should be a purple pansy and eleanor should be a daisy
i think that brittany is selfcenterd and selfish and spoiled and i think jeanette is clumsey,nice,smart,and
very pretty and i think that eleanor is pretty,nice,stronghearted,and is a very very caring and sweet.
