The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Delivers Its Final International Trailer And An Awesome IMAX Poster
Comic book movies are the biggest trend running in modern Hollywood, and as a result, when one title comes out you can be sure that the next one isn't too far off. For example, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is now in theaters around the world, but in less than a month we'll be able to say the exact same thing about Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The wall-crawler sequel will be getting its international release later this month followed by a domestic drop at the beginning of May, so naturally the marketing is starting to wind down as well. So how is it all starting to wrap up? With the film's international international trailer and a special new IMAX poster.
Simply because we've seen about a thousand trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, this new trailer isn't exactly jam packed with tons of new footage, but there are definitely some new elements to focus on, namely the quick looks at Dane DeHaan as the new Green Goblin. Sony is clearly no longer hiding the fact that the villainous character has an important role to play in the movie, and that fact becomes only clearer with this trailer:
Also hinting at the quickly-coming arrival of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the awesome IMAX poster design that was just released over on Fandango. Created as part of a partnership with the Austin-based movie poster company Mondo (sadly the site doesn't credit the artist), the artwork will be given out to fans who attend the earliest IMAX screenings of the film - at 7p.m. on May 1st - in theaters nationwide. Scope out the special one-sheet below:
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, begins as Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) begins to really find his groove as Spider-Man, but must balance his superhero life with the fact that he's graduating from high school and has to stay away from the girl he loves, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). As though things weren't complicated enough, he also learns about the return of his childhood friend, Harry Osborn (DeHaan), and discovers that there are some seriously messed up things going on behind the scenes of his company, OsCorp. Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field co-star in the film, which will be in theaters on May 2nd.
