The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl Trailer Teaser Arrives Online
Nowadays it's gotten to the point where the Super Bowl is practically as big for Hollywood as it is for the NFL. This Sunday, just about all of the major studios will be debuting new trailers for some of their biggest upcoming titles, hoping to attract the attention of the millions upon millions of viewers tuning in to watch some sports. In order to make sure that you're paying attention when the new Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer hits, Sony Pictures has unveiled the first half of the spot - teasing that the rest won't be revealed until the big game.
Most of the footage here is stuff that we already got to see in some of the previous trailers (which you will find at the end of this post), but there are a few new things to take notice of. For starters, there's a new shot of Green Goblin swooping down and attacking Spider-Man:
There's a triple missile attack in the street:
And there's this epic shot as Spider-Man saves a falling Gwen Stacy:
Obviously the second half of the spot isn't going to Gwen falling to a glass-covered death, but I do find myself wondering if there might be something big in store. We've already seen hints at Green Goblin, Rhino, Vulture and Doc Ock - maybe one of them will have some kind of big moment to celebrate the event that is the Super Bowl.
Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 picks up after the events of the first film and finds Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) working hard to balance his life between being a normal teenager and being a webslinging superhero. As he continues to fight the worst crime the city has to offer, however, he begins to realize that there is one thing that they all have in common: OsCorp. Emma Stone, Sally Field, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Felicity Jones, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore and Martin Sheen co-star in the film, which will be in theaters on May 2nd.
Be sure to come back on Sunday, as we will be posting all of the Super Bowl trailers as they arrive online.
