The Amazing Spider-Man Gets The Bad Lip Reading Treatment
Marc Webb is like the complete opposite of people like Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams, completely overtaking Twitter and social media during the production of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But if you’re someone who doesn’t want the salad before the meal, then JPEGs and Tweets aren’t going to do it for you.
But instead of merely rewatching The Amazing Spider-Man - because honestly, how often can a person do that to themselves? – just look below and check out the latest uproarious creation from the geniuses at Bad Lip Reading, who have already added their imaginatively surreal dialogue interpretations for Twilight, The Hunger Games, the NFL, and a whole host of politically-themed videos. Here, they add a healthy dose of silliness and freestyling to the courtship of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, making Andrew Garfield look even more like a goon than he already did. If you don’t heartily laugh your way through this entire video, then perhaps your brain is webbed.
It hopefully isn’t shameful to secretly wish that someone would fund this group to give entire films this treatment, even knowing that it would be overkill. Better to fail spectacularly, right? Especially when conversations about eating juicy pork are involved.
And while we’re on the subject – of Bad Lip Readings, not pork – check out their recent compilation of scenes taken from the nominees of the Best Screenplay in this year’s Independent Spirit Awards. Even though Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence’s diner conversation from Silver Linings Playbook starts the video off superbly, Moonrise Kingdom’s Tilda Swinton steals the clip.
