TV alum Amber Tamblyn may be best known for her starring role as “Joan of Arcadia”, but she is looking to shed that image and start anew. How, you may ask? By putting on flip flops and playing a regressive, beach-brat spring-breaker, naturally.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Tamblyn has joined the cast of the comedy Spring Breakdown for Warner Bros and Code Entertainment. Already on deck are actress Parker Posey (Blade: Trinity), and SNL veterans Amy Poehler (“Weekend Update” co-anchor) and Rachel Dratch (“Debbie Downer”). Ryan Shiraki is writing and directing.

The story is about three women friends in their 30s, who break the monotony of their boring lives by taking a vacation to an island, known as a popular spring break getaway for college co-eds. Tamblyn will play the geeky daughter of a powerful senator.

Shooting will begin in L.A. later this summer.
