Get ready to slip on another pair of pants… traveling pants! Warner Brothers is making a sequel to the 2005 movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, according to Variety. The movie starred America Ferrera before she became sort of famous as the star of ‘Ugly Betty’, and you have to wonder if that might have had something to do with their out of the blue decision to turn the thing into a whole franchise of pants related movies.
Apparently Ferrera and the rest of the primary cast are all in talks to return. That includes Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, and Blake Lively. The sequel will be based on the fourth novel in Ann Brashares series of books called Forever in Blue. I guess they’ll have to call it Sisterhood of the Traveling Color?
The script will take a ‘Saved by the Bell: The College Years’ approached, with the four teenage girls from the first movie now just finishing their first year at college. Just released in January of this year, it puts the girls back together with their one-size fits all apparel, this time in locations like Turkey, Greece, New York, Vermont, and Providence. Since both the characters and their audience have aged, word is that the WB is shooting to make this one PG-13, even though the first one was PG.

This is almost mean-spirited on the part of the production company... A sequel to a piece of cotton candy like this isn't exactly going to be a career-booster for any of these girls.
