When Andrew Garfield was announced as the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man last July, hardly anyone knew who he was. While the young actor earned positive marks for his performance in John Crowley's Boy A, it was Garfield's performances in The Social Network and Never Let Me Go that brought his incredible talent to the mainstream. Now a serious commodity, Garfield is likely to start popping up everywhere, and apparently that starts with Adrian Lyne's Back Roads.

An adaptation of the book by Tawni O'Dell, Variety reports that Garfield, Jennifer Garner and Marcia Gay Harden have all joined the cast of the production. Described as a "murder mystery," the novel focuses a young man (Garfield) who is forced to look after his three younger sisters after his mother is sent to prison for killing his abusive father. Garner will play a neighbor and romantic interest for Garfield's character while Harden will be Garfield's court-appointed therapist. The article says that they are currently looking for high-profile actresses to play the younger sisters, though no names are mentioned). Production is currently set to begin in June.

The book garnered a lot of attention back in 2000 when Oprah designated it as part of her Book Club. One of the sisters is 16 while another is 12, meaning that the part could perfectly suited for actresses like Saoirse Ronan, Hailee Steinfeld and Chloe Moretz. Don't be surprised if you hear one of more of those names come up further down the line.
