New Line Cinema's next big fantasy franchise has added new names to it's ever growing cast. A few months go we brought you the word that New Line was adapting a book called "Inkheart" into a movie, and that Paul Bettany and Brendan Fraser were in the cast. Now they're being joined by The Queen's Helen Mirren, Gollum's Andy Serkis, Jim Broadbent and some other actors you've never heard of, according to Variety.
Mirren will get as far away from queenly acting as she can, by portraying a book collector named Elinor Loredan in the film. Serkis is not putting back on his motion-capture unitard. He'll be the movie's villain, Capricorn. The idea of Andy Serkis sinking his teeth into a big movie baddie makes me drool.
The movie will be the story of a girl whose father has the power to bring characters from books to life just by reading the story aloud. When a villainous ruler leaps out of a kid's fairytale with his band of dastardly rogues and kidnaps the girl's dad, she gathers together real and imaginary friends to rescue him.
