You know we're not type to report on gossip (that job goes to our celeb section), but here's something worth mentioning: Angelina Jolie has bested Jennifer Aniston once again. No, this has nothing to do with Brad, but with money; Jolie and Aniston top Forbes' list of top-earning Hollywood actresses, with Jolie earning about $27 million in the last year, and Aniston taking in $25 million.
It may be surprising to see Aniston up that high, given that she doesn't have nearly the same headliner appeal as Jolie, but she was top-billed in Fox's massive hit Marley & Me last year, and remains a household name. In a wonderful surprise, Meryl Streep comes in third behind Aniston, having earned $24 million last year almost entirely due to Mamma Mia! We truly do live in a wonderful country when a woman turning 60 is still a major box office draw.
Below is a list of the top 15 ranked (thanks, Slashfilm, for compiling it), which includes a few surprises-- Halle Berry is still a major moneymaker, and Kate Winslet falls in way low on the list, probably because her asking price didn't yet factor in her massive Oscar attention. Also, unsurprisingly, this list includes a lot of low figures because women earn substantially less than men-- Harrison Ford made $65 million in the last year, which is more than Jolie and Aniston combined. Sigh.
