Angelina Jolie Cuts Short Production On Her Bosnian Love Story image
Back to international action star status after the success of this summer's Salt, Angelina Jolie has spent the fall far, far away from the hubbub, working on her directorial debut, a love story set during the Bosnian War. It hasn't exactly been easy-- the production has seen its shooting permit revoked amid rumors about the film's content, all on top of the fact that she's shooting in a place that was a recent war zone.

Now amid all the complications, Jolie has cut the planned shoot dates in Bosnia from 10 to just three or four. According to The AP, Jolie herself will only visit the set briefly, which is a little bizarre given that she's the director and all. The cut in the production schedule was largely inspired by protests from a Bosnian women's group, who heard the (false) rumor that the movie depicted a love story between a woman and her rapist. Jolie plans to meet with the women to assuage their concerns, though it's likely they're also upset in general that a Hollywood actress is showing up purporting to tell their story; as well-meaning and well-traveled as Jolie is, she's definitely likely to step on a few toes in this process.
