Angelina Jolie Wants To Be Catwoman

Too those against Angelina Jolie what is your reasoning? So it can be another Superhero and Villain not being able to live without each other thing? They would be crazy not to put catwoman in the film. Also, there were references to Catwoman. The new Batsuit is "not catproof" or something. He had those copycats in it. She sure dresses alot like him. Also, since he is now a fugitive she could at first be used in some kind of vigilante like he was bounty hunter way.

Batman Begins was great, and I liked Ledger in the Dark Knight. Aside from that do you really think it was that good? They can't put a watered down Joker character like the Riddler in the film. Goyer is pretty much going to make a crappy film if he has that mindset. By the way, they are not realistic. They are freaking Superhero movies, so get over the realism.

Maybe Nolan's anti-Catwoman statement was a decoy. Because, remember that scene where Bale asks Freeman to build him a new suit? Bale asks how the new design would fare against dogs, and Morgan responds by asking which kind of dog, and then he says "It should do fine against CATS."

Sounds like a perfect set-up to me.

I have watched all the batman franchise movies - and have enjoyed them. I won't be watching if AJ is in. Her hypocritical "circus" persona will overshadow any character she tries to play - she is better off selling/pimping more pictures of her babies.

They don’t say that they didn't WANT to use Catwoman or Penguin in the next movie.

DAVID GOYER: Everyone says you have to use the Penguin or Catwoman. Well, I completely disagree.

The fact is that there are many ways Catwoman or The Penguin could be introduced into the next film and more importantly, without Catwoman (aka a good love interest/villainess) this series of films will feel some what lacking.

also...cindy (not to be argumentative) i honestly believe the dark knight would bring in just as much money even if heath ledger was still alive. his performance from the trailers gathered a great deal of hype and through word of mouth everyone would still be seeing tdk.

(and for the record, all josh was doing from my point of view WAS reporting the rumor and adding his two cents, same as the other movie sites)

Never said she needs Catwoman... and it's pretty obvious Dark Knight doesn't need her... since it became the biggest movie of all time without her.

agreed, they should not do catwoman or penguin.......NEW VILLIANS.......maybe harley quinn or mad hatter? those are the only main ones i can thing of without using extensive cgi (i.e. clayface) seems hatter would still be fairly similar to joker tho.

Jeez Josh dont get your panties all twisted over this. I am all with NotBloodyLikely, She doesnt need Catwoman on contrary its the Dark Knight franchise that needs her. She is hot property now, she has two big box offices movies in the summer (one rated R!) and a serious oscar buzz for the one coming out in October. You think KungFu Panda would be THE Premiere to attend if Angelina wasnt there? Or that McAvoy would carry the movie without her? Lets face it Health Ledger tragic death adds millions to the movie, with Christian Bale embroiled in that bizzare arrest Dark Night is going to need some big name to bail them out on the next one, and no one is bigger than Angelina at this moment. Every week her name is attached to a new movie from Sin City 2, next Bond Girl, Tomb Raider 3, even Wanted 2. Your dark night franchise would be lucky if they manage to land her, but who knows if they promise to donate the movie proceeds to charity she might just do it!

Oh brother. Please. Jolie is busy in France with newborn twins and 4 children ages 6 and under. She has NOT made any inquiries about the role of Catwoman. As a matter of fact she very specifically said at Cannes that she was NOT looking at any film work for the foreseeable future unless it was an extraordinary, once in a lifetime role because she wants to be home with her children. Would you really call Catwom a once in a lifetime role? I think not.

Julie Newman is the one who started the rumor in her interview with the NYDN earlier this week. Prior to that Jolie's name was attached to the role by someone at another movie site who said he thought she'd be great in the role. From there the rumor grew legs of it's own as frequently happens.

Frankly Jolie would be an idiot to want to play the role of Catwoman. There's not a whole more to it than writhing around in leather and she's been there and done that a few dozen times already. Aside from that Nolan hasn't exactly shown a deftness for writing female roles, has he? The Rachel Dawes character is a total bust, no matter who is playing the role. The only other significant female role in his two Batman movies was a female cop who had 6 lines of dialog and turned out to be on the Joker's payroll. Not exactly what I would call meaty roles for women. At the juncture in her career Jolie would hardly be doing herself a favor by settling for roles that could easily be played by Jolie-wannabe Megan Fox, ie, nothing to do but where tight clothes and look hot. Boring.

Maybe Poison Ivy? Without all the shrill and annoying qualities that made Uma Thurman's take on the character such a bust of course.

Eh, who am I kidding? The Nolans and Goyer want serious villains.
