IGN is running a weird rumor in which they claim former Catwoman Julie Newmar is running around telling people that Angelina Jolie is trying to get Warner Brothers to let her play Catwoman in the next Batman movie. Angie is of course, totally perfect for the character. She’s always had a certain feline quality to her and should WB actually use Catwoman in anything again I hope they have the sense to consider her. However, it’s not going to happen.

It’s not going to happen because Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer, who wrote The Dark Knight, have already said, rather specifically, that they don’t want to use Catwoman or Penguin in the next movie. In fact, they said it right here, no less than two weeks ago.

I can however, believe that Angelina Jolie might be out there making inquiries, trying to get herself involved in the next Batman movie. Actually, I imagine just about every Hollywood star with even a modicum of influence was on the phone with their agent after The Dark Knight’s opening weekend screaming to get involved in the next Batman project. It makes sense that Angelina would be one of them. Still, not going to happen.
