Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn are headed for management. No, the duo aren’t starting some new production company to replace Aniston’s former company with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Instead Aniston and Zahn are appearing in Management, a romantic comedy that will give Steve Zahn a shot at a woman he’d never have a chance with otherwise.

The story, written by Stephen Belber, features Aniston as a traveling saleswoman who hooks up with Zahn, an underachieving assistant motel manager. He winds up pursuing her all over the country. What any of that has to do with “management” is beyond me, but I’m sure it’s in there somewhere. At least that last part sounds realistic. If an average guy like Zahn ever got a shot with someone like Aniston, it probably would result in stalking.

I’m hoping there’s more to the story than Variety is describing, because this sounds like a step backwards for both actors. Zahn actually moved to the serious side of things in this year’s Rescue Dawn. Meanwhile, Aniston already tackled the concept of management in Office Space, a film unlikely to be rivaled by this romantic comedy.
