Anne Hathaway And Jim Sturgess Will Fall In Love For Lone Scherfig![]()
Anne Hathaway was just part of the massive ensemble in the massively successful Alice in Wonderland, but you could be forgiven for forgetting she was there at all. Luckily Hathaway, who proved her drama chops in 2008's Rachel Getting Married, has some more hefty work coming her way. This year she'll romance Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs, and according to Coming Soon, she may be preparing to star for An Education director Lone Scherfig as well.
They talked to producer Nina Jacobson about her new film Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Jacobson also revealed that she'd be working on One Day, an adaptation of David Nicholls' novel that Scherfig will direct with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess starring. In the story two people first meet in 1988 and then reunite one day a year for the next 20 years-- because, you know, a regular relationship wouldn't be complicated enough. Focus Features is handling the film, which will be filming this summer. Hathaway and Sturgess are both pretty solid rising stars, even though she's a bit more famous than he is, so it'll definitely be interesting to see them paired. Scherfig obviously knows how to get great performances out of actors-- Carey Mulligan didn't get that Best Actress nomination by herself, at least-- so maybe Sturgess in particular will have a chance to capitalize on that talent he showed way back in Across the Universe. |
