A lot of us were surprised by Anne Hathaway's pipes when she sang briefly with Hugh Jackman at this year's Oscar ceremony. We should be way, way less surprised that she might work that into a sweet new movie deal. The Weinstein Company has announced that Hathaway is signed to a Judy Garland biopic, in which she'll play the legendary singer-actress throughout decades of her life.
It's hard to imagine a more perfect role for the actress, who so recently reaped critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for her role in Rachel Getting Married, and could very well win the prize next time she takes on a serious role. She looks a bit like Garland too, and if Rachel Getting Married wasn't a fluke, definitely has the chops to pull it off.
