Announcement Piece For Rango Replaces Chameleons With Toy Fish
Gore Verbinski's Rango seems like it could be a pretty big deal. The film is the first full-length animated feature for both Verbinski and Industrial Light and Magic and it has a stellar cast that includes Johnny Depp, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Isla Fisher, and Stephen Root. The first trailer, however, shows none of that.
Apple has released what they are calling a "Rango Announcement Piece" , and while the film's synopsis reads "the story of a chameleon with an identity crisis", that's not what the video suggests. That is, unless you read the word "chameleon" as "giant orange wind-up fish with a crack in its tail." Clocking in at just 53 seconds, the entire trailer is watching said fish glide across the screen with the website RangoMovie.com shown at the end. Perhaps it's a metaphor for all teaser trailers: all we want is to see a little bit of the action, but all we ever get is a broken fish.
Try and figure it out below or watch it in glorious HD over at Apple.
