Gore Verbinski's Rango seems like it could be a pretty big deal. The film is the first full-length animated feature for both Verbinski and Industrial Light and Magic and it has a stellar cast that includes Johnny Depp, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Isla Fisher, and Stephen Root. The first trailer, however, shows none of that.

Apple has released what they are calling a "Rango Announcement Piece" , and while the film's synopsis reads "the story of a chameleon with an identity crisis", that's not what the video suggests. That is, unless you read the word "chameleon" as "giant orange wind-up fish with a crack in its tail." Clocking in at just 53 seconds, the entire trailer is watching said fish glide across the screen with the website shown at the end. Perhaps it's a metaphor for all teaser trailers: all we want is to see a little bit of the action, but all we ever get is a broken fish.

Try and figure it out below or watch it in glorious HD over at Apple.
