Jay Roach has picked up his lead for his upcoming comedy, Dinner for Schmucks. According to THR, Stephanie Szostak has signed to play the lead in the flick about a group of guys who have weekly dinner parties where they attempt to bring really dumb dudes as guests. Zach Galifianakis, Steve Carrell, and Paul Rudd are all signed on to co-star. Szostack will play the girlfriend of Paul Rudd’s character. The last place you might have noticed her was in 2006's Devil Wears Prada where, presumably, she played a hot chick. Side note, I'm pretty sure she does that every day of her life.

It’s odd to see Jay Roach going back to comedy. It isn't that I’m not excited for this (he's usually pretty okay at bringing the laughs). It’s that I saw Recount and saw what he was able to do with a really well-written script, great characters, and even better actors. This guys could’ve directed episodes of The West Wing if he wanted to, and that’s not a small mountain to climb. Instead, he’s going back to what sounds like a run-of-the-mill comedy. Bummer.
