Amidst all the summer blockbusters out there this year, I’ve all but forgotten about The Simpsons Movie coming in just over a month. We’ve talked about advertising pushes for movies this year being everything from overbearing to minimal. The Simpsons Movie has definitely been on the minimal side.

Instead of trailers or tons of commercials, it seems Fox’s strategy with The Simpsons is to trickle out a variety of posters. The latest one showed up online today. ComingSoon appears to have the first look, although I’ve seen the poster a few other places as well.

The poster continues to give no real clue about the movie and why we should go see it. I guess the folks behind the movie and show assume the audience is pretty much build in regardless of advertising. I’m still on the “The Simpsons is funny” bandwagon, but I’m not sure they shouldn’t be doing something to convince me to see what is feeling like more and more likely to be just a feature length episode of the series (although the pig does have me intrigued).
