If you were eager to read Mel Gibson’s next dead language endeavor Apocalypto, get ready to wait. Originally slated for an August release, the big bearded Gibson is delaying his movie until December. He’s calling it on account of rain. I guess he hadn’t anticipated torrential downpours… while filming in the rain forest.
A Disney spokesman told the Associated Press that heavy rains on the Yucatan peninsula have made shooting difficult. The Mayan epic, being filmed entirely in the ancient tongue of Yucatec Maya will just take a little longer. Unlike Terry Gilliam, Mel can’t be washed away by a few thunderstorms.
Look for Mel to use this extra time to insert even more crazy, hidden images into his movie trailers.
