Apollo 18 Trailer: It's Paranormal Activity On The Moon
Apollo 18, after scheduling one ludicrously optimistic release date just six months after they went into production, was at one point set to come out this spring, and is now planned for the death spot of early January. That inauspicious release date might say everything you need to know about the film, which is directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego with Timur Bekmambetov producing. But today the Weinstein Company has released a new trailer to get you excited anyway, and allow me to be the first to tell you that this is Paranormal Activity…. in space. Seriously, I dare you to think of something else while watching this below.
The fact that it's yet another found footage horror movie doesn't necessarily mean it won't be scary-- I'd be freaked out if I were an astronaut on the moon and saw a strange shadow go by my window-- but it doesn't make it seem all that original. It will be released after this fall's Paranormal Activity 3, which means we might be even more sick of watching things go bump in the night through infrared camera technology. Does the outer space setting switch it up enough for you? Or are you feeling worn out by this horror trend too? |
