Are You The Next McLovin? Universal Wants YOU!![]()
Fame! I'm gonna live forever! I'm gonna... co-star with Steve Martin? It may not be the most typical route to stardom, but aspiring young actors between the ages of 15 and 17 now have the chance to join the cast of Keaton's next comedy, thanks to an open, nationwide casting call.
Universal has sent out an open call for "the next Michael Cera /McLovin type to play a 17-year-old in the film, which will shoot in NY and LA in early 2009." The role, in the movie directed by Nancy Meyers that stars Meryl Streep, Martin and Alec Baldwin, is "Edward, an awkward, funny, precocious 17-year-old high school senior." Hey, don't you remember what happened the last time a relatively unknown actor took on the role of teenager Edward? Robert Pattinson could probably remind you. Casting is taking place in New York this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., so if you're in the area or can get here fast, sign up! There's more information available at MySpace, Facebook and the casting website. Auditions are taking place a week form now in Chicago and Toronto as well, and you can also submit your info online if you can't make it. So stop making snide comments about other movies on Cinema Blend, and get out there and make your own! |
