All those too-hip teens who wondered what the Dario Argento fuss was about in Juno may be getting their chance to see the famous horror director’s work for the first time. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Argento’s next project—a horror film, naturally—will be shot in English, on location in Turin, Italy.
The movie will star Asia Argento, the director’s daughter (of course), Ray Liotta (what?), and Vincent Gallo. Gallo will, naturally, play a serial killer with “a taste for attractive women,” as the Reporter describes it. Liotta, who is everywhere these days, will play a detective on his tail.
If the director’s Italian efforts are really as good as everyone says they are (this is the point where I admit I’m one of those people who has never seen Suspiria), an English-language effort definitely has the ability to shake up the horror market around here. Come on, Eli Roth can’t run around pretending to be the King of Horror forever, right?
