Even though he’s still wrapped up in politics, it looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back as the Terminator in Terminator 4. Just don’t expect to see him for very long.
The Boston Herald spoke to MGM CEO Harry Sloan who says that he’s already contracted to show up, but it’ll probably only be for a cameo. Maybe he’ll do a symbolic passing of the torch to whoever they come up with to be the new Terminator.
The really surprising thing here is that MGM hasn’t given up on making another Terminator movie. There’s been talk of one ever since Terminator 3, but it’s never really gone anywhere. It’s been pretty quiet on that front lately, and I think most were starting to assume it would never make it out of development hell. But MGM is apparently looking for a new guy to play a cyborg killer, so the T4 dream lives on.
