Fox is bullying ahead with their sequel to the frequently loathed (yet incredibly popular) Alien and Predator franchise combination Alien Vs. Predator. Variety reports that they've started casting on the film, which they're calling Alien Vs. Predator: Survival of the Fittest.
To find actors for their Aliens and Predators to kill, they're going to television. "24" bit player Reiko Aylesworth and "Rescue Me's" Steven Pasquale. Pasquale will play a recently released prisoner named Dallas and Aylesworth is playing a pilot and soldier named Kelly.
Last time Paul W.S. Anderson and a committee of scripters were to blame for the script, this time it's screenwriter Shane Solerno. Whether or not that's a step up probably depends on how you feel about Solerno's last major writing project Armageddon. Personally I think it works fantastically as a piece of big action, popcorn fluff, though some like to look down their nose at it. Whatever your take, it's certainly no worse than anything done by the bad Anderson.
