James Cameron’s Avatar isn’t content simply to take over theaters this December, the film seems to be intent on taking over everything else as well. It’s still weeks away but the movie’s already plastered itself over everything everywhere, from one extreme to the other. A couple of weeks ago, for instance, it took over a sizeable chunk of 60 Minutes. Now that James Cameron has won over your grandpa, he’s going after the Twilight crowd and targeting the kids who watch… whatever it is that MTV plays these days. I’m going to go ahead and say Beavis & Butthead, not because I actually believe it’s still on the air, but because it’s nice to pretend we live in better times.

The network will webcast a live Avatar roundtable with Cameron, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, and producer John Landau (inventor of the Landau roof I assume) from his would be game changing film on December 3rd. It’ll be followed by a television special on MTV to air later on December 16th. The event will last thirty minutes and show more as of yet unseen footage from the movie (I’m going to go ahead and guess that it will involve blue cartoon characters running around and yelling about how much they want to save nature) along with an answer session in which they’ll respond to whichever fan submitted questions fit the formula the production’s screeners are looking for. If you're interested in submitting questions, watch the Avatar Facebook page.

So there you have it. Mark your calendars for more Avatar promotion. Or, just sit down somewhere and stare blankly off into the sky until you see a naked blue alien. At the rate this promotional campaign is going I’m pretty sure James Cameron will have a video billboard on the moon soon.
