That low pitched chanting you hear is James Cameron’s hooded acolytes carrying candles and marching single file towards the nearest theater. Avatar opens today in theaters around the country and as I type this post the first wave of 3D glasses carrying Pandorans is emptying out of a theater on the East coast after risking their future employment to attend a midnight showing.

And even if you aren’t one of those cultists there on opening night, odds are you’ll see Avatar at some point in the next week. When you do, come back here. You’ve read both our positive and negative takes on the film but now it’s time for us to shut up and let you take the floor.
