Avatar Trailer Available In Bootleg Form, If You Dare![]()
It's too bad there's really nothing coming out in wide release this weekend that's particularly worth seeing (though I do hear that Saw VI isn't bad), since the new trailer for Avatar is running in front of virtually everything, and there's no online version that you can see at home. It's not a 3D trailer this time, but it is crammed with lots more visuals that you can imagine have a real effect on the big screen.
So while I'm loath to watch much of anything pirated from inside a movie theater, I was also dying to see what the trailer had in store, and I imagine you were too. Luckily some intrepid YouTube user has put a very grainy version of the trailer online, and you can check it out below. Honestly, it's a great trailer, containing lots more plot elements that should have been included the first time around, and blending enough footage of both humans and Na'vi to help you understand Cameron's claims that eventually we won't be able to tell the difference between what's CGI and what's real. It makes me pretty motivated, actually, to buy a movie ticket at some point this weekend and check it out the way it's meant to be seen. If you can stand the terrible quality, take a look below. Hopefully either Fox will realize the futility of fighting trailer piracy for a whole week and release the trailer online soon, or they'll play it in front of older stuff like Zombieland that's actually worth buying a ticket to see. UPDATE: We received a takedown notice from Fox, and the trailer has been removed from YouTube as well. The full trailer will hopefully be online in glorious HD sometime this week. In the meantime, get thee to a theater and support America's homegrown movie industry! |
