Avatar Trailer's Online Debut Details
There have been far dumber reasons to have holidays. Valentine’s. Earth day. Beat up a really nice Jewish dude, hang him up on a lowercase ‘T,’ and celebrate with bunnies and chocolates day. But Avatar? Now that’s something to celebrate about: James Cameron’s first theatrical movie since Titanic took over the world then subsequently, got made fun of a lot.
There was a lot of buzz coming out of Comic-Con after a room full of Hall H geeks were allowed the chance to see the first footage ever seen by non-Cameron eyes. During Comic Con we also told you about Avatar Day, a special event on August 21 when 15 minutes of Avatar will be shown in theaters. Except, what if you don't want to leave your house? No problem, for those who'd prefer to sit in their livingroom stewing in their own filth, Fox has announced the internet debut of the movie's theatrical trailer. In addition to showing 15 minutes of footage in IMAX theaters, Fox will also release the movie's first ever theatrical trailer in all formats, including online. Phew. That’s a lot to take in, right? Fox seems to be getting behind the epic nature of the movie by ballooning its significance. At this point, Avatar would have to be less a movie and more a living film being that cooks, cleans, washes dishes, and listens to your rants about Star Wars for it to even come close to meeting expectations. |
